Emergency medical training is an essential addition to every activist's toolkit and a great contribution to every action and campaign. Wilderness First Response (WFR) is defined as emergency medical care more than an hour from definitive medical treatment. WFR certification is the best emergency medical training for activists, because you learn to treat a wide range of injuries with a minimum of equipment.

A 14-day 80+ hour WFR Training (including Red Cross CPR-PRO certification) gives you the knowledge and skills to deal with most outdoor emergencies. You'll learn to assess for spinal or head injuries, stabilize and evacuate serious trauma, recognize and treat heat stroke, hypothermia, and other common backcountry threats to health, splint a broken limb, irrigate and treat a wound, and be more calm and focused in high-stress situations.

Daily scenarios will incorporate unusual circumstances activists might confront. Supplemental trainings (not required for WFR certification) will include street medicing, including chemical-weapon decontamination protocols and techniques, herbal first aid and health support.

Class size is limited to 20 people.

Applications are now being accepted. For more information, please write:
